I usually draw her with 4 or 5, so I’d go with whatever you think is best honestly lmfao it’s not a consistent thing

Whatever you think looks best works for me, I’m really not all IT HAS TO BE EXACTLY LIKE THE DESIGN when it comes to cosplay

I have a response for the Cal cosplayer-to-be! [dropping quirks for easier reading] I got this idea while doodling concepts for what Cal wears to school, and it's worked for me thus far! For the legs, pinstripe or ribbed tights. For what I have, ribbed match better. For the waist up under the blue shirt, I wear a white, sleeveless button-up under a V-neck sweater with a matching pattern/texture for the legs. And I don't have any spare ribbon as of yet, so I use a hair clip to attach my bow tie.

lil cal cosplay advice (calsplay???)

Hi!!! I'm planning to cosplay Cal in the next couple of months and I have a question about her outfit. What type of orange fabric is on her legs and arms? To me it looks like a long sleeved shirt and tights but I noticed that the sleeves have lines on them like they have a different texture. Sorry to bother you with stuff like this afjsdlk Thanks so much for doing what you do!! <3

Honestly you should use whatever fabric you’re most comfortable wearing depending on the weather. Don’t wear something that’s going to be too cold in the winter or too hot in the summer! I don’t have anything specific in mind for the fabric in question but I’ve seen Cals wearing thin shirts and tights as well as a Cal who wore a full orange tracksuit under the shirt. I think the most important thing is that you’re comfortable wearing whatever fabric you choose.

ahhhh thank you so much for your answer and sketches they are a huge help!! and of course i will still include the symbol. i hope im not a bother if i ask another couple questions? are the designs on her arms gloves or just her arms, and does the skirt design have a specific pattern to it, or is it just kind of like a random squiggly design? and her beads are just circular simple beads, right? thank you!!

Not at all!

She wears gloves. The skirt is just kind of a random design…I think the best thing you could do is probably to just find lace that’s particularly sheer so that the green can still show through from underneath, sort of along the lines of this (though you could probably find something cheaper) and layer it over the top part of the skirt. That’s what I’d do, anyway.

The beads are just round beads, yes, though the jade ones are flattened, like medallions!

To answer your other ask, her mouth is NOT stitched closed. They’re just lines! <3

Question. I am going to be Cosplaying Pounce in the sometime future, and I need to know what the torso/arm area looks like, If you can that is.

it’s basically just a skintight sleeve with a single black stripe at the wrist and black gloves? Her pants are the same except the ankles have two black stripes

Yes, her shirt is still like that! I went a little overboard and sketched out most of her outfit lmfao

the beads on her horns are fairly straightforward but I can sketch those up for you too if you need them

just keep in mind that her eyelashes are drawn onto her face

as for hair, I can only really imagine her with really short hair like this:

but the issue arises of what to do with her symbol if you go that route. I suppose you could dye it into the wig (which would have to be white)? but that seems like it’d be an awful lot of work. It’s a big part of the Lusii in Guidestuck so I’d hate to see you go without it, but if you couldn’t figure something out it’s not like it’d be the end of the world.
